Marketing for HVAC Companies
In Houston your August is booked no matter what you do. The question is what March and November look like.
Summer sells itself. The rest of the year is the business.
When it's 98 degrees and the AC quits, people call whoever comes up first and whoever can come today. You don't need much marketing to get busy in July. The businesses that grow are the ones with something to do in the months when nothing is breaking.
That work exists — maintenance plans, duct work, system replacements planned in advance, indoor air quality, heating checks before the one Texas cold snap. It just doesn't come to you as an emergency call, which means it has to be found and earned, and most HVAC sites are built entirely around the emergency.
- Emergency AC repair pages that own the map pack — phone searches, same-hour intent, won on the Google profile
- Maintenance plan pages that actually sell the plan — recurring revenue and your winter schedule, and usually one buried paragraph on most sites
- Replacement content aimed at planners — cost ranges, efficiency, what SEER means in a Houston summer, financing
- Heating pages published in October — Houston heating searches are a short spike; the page has to be ranking before it arrives
- Brand and certification badges where they matter — these are trust signals for a five-figure system decision
- Bilingual, with honest phone routing — large market, and the site shouldn't promise a Spanish call you can't answer
The maintenance plan is the real prize
One AC repair is one transaction. A maintenance plan is a customer for years, a predictable spring and fall schedule, and first call when the system finally needs replacing. It's the single most valuable thing on your price list and it's almost always the worst-explained page on an HVAC website.
What makes it sell: exactly what's included, exactly what it costs, exactly what it saves. Not "peace of mind" — two visits a year, priority scheduling, fifteen percent off repairs, a specific dollar figure per month. Then the ability to sign up and pay on the site without calling, because a $19-a-month decision does not deserve a phone call and most people won't make one.
Wire that to automatic renewal and a reminder before each visit, and it runs itself.
What we'd look at first
Whether your Google profile is set up to rank for the emergency searches in every suburb you cover, or only near your shop. That's usually the fastest money on the table.
Then whether your site has a page anyone could find for the non-emergency work. If your only pages are "AC repair" and "about us," the whole shoulder-season opportunity is invisible.
