Conversion Rate Optimization
Doubling your traffic is expensive and slow. Doubling what your current traffic does is often a week of work on things nobody has looked at.
Phone number tappable and visible without scrolling
on a phone, which is where most of your visitors are
Forms cut to what you actually need
every field you remove raises submissions; most forms ask for things nobody reads
A price, a range, or a reason there isn't one
"call for pricing" loses people who assume the worst; a range beats silence
Proof near the action, not on an About page
reviews next to the button, not two clicks away
One obvious next step per page
when a page offers four equal options, the most common choice is none
Tracked, so you know whether it worked
a change you can't measure is a preference, not an improvement
Conversion Optimization
Start with the visitors you're already paying for
Everyone's instinct is more traffic. But if a hundred people visit and two call, the cheapest available win isn't finding another hundred people — it's finding out why ninety-eight left. That work costs a fraction of what more traffic costs and it improves every visitor from then on, including the paid ones.
For local businesses the wins are usually embarrassingly basic. Not clever psychology — a phone number that can't be tapped, a form that asks nine questions, no price anywhere, a page that never says which city you're in.

What we test and what we don't bother testing
A/B testing button colors is a real technique and it is almost useless at local business traffic volumes. To detect a small difference you need thousands of visitors; most local sites don't get them, so the test never reaches a conclusion and everyone pretends it did.
So we do the version that works at your scale: fix the things that are clearly broken, look at what people actually do on the page with session recordings and form drop-off, and change the big things rather than hunting for two percent. When a change is big enough to matter, you can see it in the call log without any statistics.
The one number worth watching closely is calls, not clicks. A change that raises form fills and lowers calls has made things worse for most local businesses, and you only notice if you're tracking both.
Conversion Optimization
Where it fits in the order of operations
If nobody can find you, conversion work is premature — there's nothing to convert. Get found first. But if you're already getting visitors, or already paying for ads, this is usually the highest-return thing available and it should happen before you increase spend.
The fastest way to know which situation you're in is to look at whether traffic exists. That's the first thing the free audit answers.
